Heber City Railroad Train Ride!
They have so many themed rides, including Harry Potter, Princess + Pirates, Pumpkins, Dinosaurs, and of course Christmas!
Lil guy loves dinosaurs so we of course had to take him on the Dinosaur Train, which from what I could tell—only ran on one day. They had the cutest tent set up with activities for the kids, including a Dino bone dig and coloring. They had a tent set up about “Dinosaurland” in Vernal, Utah and had complimentary pamphlets and story/coloring books for the kids!
We arrived early to check out the gift shop that was also filled with unique dinosaur toys and souvenirs!
I got lil guy a velociraptor hat so he’ll always remember his special trip on the train!
When you get there, you pull into a parking lot next to this classic, historical train stop, ticket office and all.
You go in to grab your tickets and then go straight out to the boarding area, where you can walk alongside the historic Heber City railway and trains.
It’s quite the site and a great photo op!
For the dinosaur train, people in dinosaur costumes and “paleontologists” walked around taking pictures with families.
Once on the train, (which is all assigned seating so if you go as a group you need to call ahead to be seated together if you bought separate tickets) you’re escorted to your seat (which is more like a bench), where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery out the window.
The dinosaur train specifically included dinosaurs walking down the aisles, live fiddle playing, dancing in the aisles, dinosaur jokes, and each kid got a little dinosaur figurine at the end of the ride too!
It was a short 40 minute ride, just down and back up the line, before you hit Deer Creek. The perfect amount of time for young kids.
Dairy Keen for lunch
To continue the train fun, you can grab a train burger or Nutella shake from the famed “Dairy Keen” and either take your pup with you through the drive through, or take your little one into the restaurant to watch the toy trains ride around the restaurant.
Country Gardens & Nursery
A fun garden/nursery with the cutest gift shop inside!
