So first thing to know about the wildflower hike at Albion Basin — dogs aren’t actually allowed 😦 I was sad we had to leave honey home for this one. But it was an amazingly beautiful hike with a fairly easy dirt path you can do with little ones.

It’s also important to time your visit just right — the wildflowers typically are at their peak around early-mid July. We happened to go at the very end of July and just barely caught the very last of the flowers. If we go again, we’ll definitely go earlier in the month.

As you can see, the views of mountains and flowers are absolutely spectacular. It’s obviously at a high elevation, and July is usually the hottest month in Utah, so take lots of water. We saw signs for a little store but didn’t see one, and the nearby building seemed to be under construction when we went.
